The Borough Food Cooperative opened in October 2020. With help from organisations like FareShare, the Borough Food Cooperative acts as a subsidized supermarket, offering members to stop in and pick up £15-£20 worth of groceries for £4.50. The Cooperative is open during lockdown to provide essential supplies to local households.
Membership is flexible - so you only pay when you come. This could be 3 times a week, once a month or anything in between. Members can choose from an assortment fresh fruit and vegetables which has already included: Tenderstem broccoli, green and red mangos, plantain, oranges, satsumas, conference pears, leeks and heritage carrots. We stock dry store goods too, such as: pasta, eggs, tinned tomatoes, tinned vegetables, baked beans, lentils, rice, bread, biscuits, crisps, cereal and chocolate. The Cooperative also offers a range of chilled goods like: milk, butter, cream, yoghurt, cheese, sausages and sometimes even steaks. Delicious meals made in our kitchen are also up for grabs!
The store is operated COVID-consciously and we take every possible precaution to help minimise risk to members and volunteers. If you are unable to visit due to shielding or practicality concerns, please email email@example.com to set up a possible weekly delivery.
Please help us and become a member! Anyone can join, regardless of circumstance and we need as many members as possible in order to continue providing the service.
Current Cooperative Store Opening Times:
Tuesday (12:00 – 15:00)
We are also looking for volunteers to help operate the store and assist with stock rotations, cooking prep and deliveries. Are you able to commit any hours 09:00 -16:00 Monday – Saturday? If so, please call the church at 020 7357 7331 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
